WHY WE DID..WHAT WE DID!
When we made the decision to hit the road full time for a year with three kids in tow we knew we HAD to do it in comfort. The first big choice was our home on wheels…and eventually we found and fell in love with our Royal Flair – Family Flair 2021 Caravan! It had everything we wanted and any customizations were no problem for the team at Caravan HQ. When living on the road with kiddies space and convenience are non-negotiables, so we opted for a super king drop down bed, which freed up so much room and gave us an extra-large dinette which certainly helped on those rainy days spent inside! The space and storage provided us with so much extra comfort that we didn’t feel as though we were living on top of each other, bloody impressive considering there were two adults (one being a six foot eight giant!), two energetic kids (6+8) and a newborn!! We also went with a full Enerdrive battery system and four large solar panels to help when we were living off grid. Our Family Flair really was luxury on wheels, we made the decision early on to invest more in the comfort inside the van rather than inside our travel vehicle – we’ll talk about our trusty truck in the next blog!!
Another important part of our set up was making sure the outdoor living was going to be as practical and comfortable as the indoor living! We went to our mates at Kakadu Annexes and decided on a full annexe, having that extra room outside was invaluable especially during the longer stays, or when we had to separate the kids haha!
DID YOU KNOW??
Our most popular Tidy Turf Mat is by far the Donk Mat. Being the biggest turf mat on the market (100cm x 150cm) it was a must have for us on the road, being full time travellers the bigger the better I say! We often did not put down any other flooring as it was big enough to do the job and keep the outside from getting inside!
